Alison Bortolon: Centre Manager
Growing up in Ontario, Alison moved west to pursue her Bachelor of Arts in Global and Development Studies while maintaining her training for the Provincial Team in Biathlon at Augustana University in Camrose, Alberta. While completing and following her degree she held internships with the Mackwacis Reserve in Hobbema, AB, Summer Camp staff with the Wetaskiwin Boys and Girls Club, Transitional Support Worker with the E4C Crossroads House in Camrose and Youth Support Worker/ Outreach Worker and Communications Coordinator with Camrose Open Door Association. With a love for the mountains, she moved to Invermere and worked with Panorama and with her own photography and videography productions within the marketing department. In addition to her degree, she holds a diploma in Documentary Film.
Devin Publicover: Program Coordinator
Devin joined our team as a casual youth worker in 2019. Originally from Ontario, the mountains came a calling and he followed. Working in the Kananaskis he developed his outdoor enthusiasm and developed programs for seasonal employees. Through Tim Horton’s Camp for Kids he realized his passion for working with youth and bringing out their best qualities. He currently runs the very successful “Rite to Ride” foundation for Skateboarding and Snowboarding development with youth in our area. The SYC Hub has recently purchased mobile outdoor skateboard equipment and we look forward to setting it up for you very soon.
He enjoys sharing his musical talents in both drums and guitar and the written word. He looks forward to bringing amazing programming and creativity to you, our youth.
Devin has completed his Mental Health First Aid Certificate for adults working with youth in addition to 2 years of post-secondary in English Literature.
Sierra Franklin: Youth Worker
Sierra joined our organization in 2016 as a youth worker. Over the years she has brought her love for cooking and yoga into our youth programs. Her infectious smile is always ready to greet the youth as they walk in the door. Sierra has completed her certificate in Mental Health First Aid for Adults working with youth. She grew up in the Columbia Valley and has been on the Columbia Basin Trust youth advisory committee during her time in secondary school.
